After 7 incredible years, Terra Marin has closed its doors
We continue to serve our Summer Camp community. Visit our site for more information.

Dear Marin Community,

After seven incredible years of learning, growth, and connection, we announce the closure of Terra Marin with a heavy heart. The Mill Valley School District’s recent decision to terminate our 16-year lease ten years early has forced this transition. Though this news is difficult, we are immensely grateful for the memories, friendships, and achievements that have made this journey so meaningful.

In the spirit of resilience, we are actively raising funds to support legal action, as we believe this decision is unjust. If you share our passion for maintaining accessible, community-rooted education in Marin, we warmly invite you to contribute to our cause here at Gofundme.

Though we will be closing our main program, we are excited to share that our Mandarin Preschool program has found a temporary home at 10 Bayview Drive, San Rafael, thanks to the generous support of Old Firehouse Preschool. This collaboration allows us to complete the school year and continue providing valuable early childhood education.

While we may be closing our main doors, Terra Marin’s spirit will carry on through several cherished offerings:

  • Earth Education Summer Camps: Our nature-based camps will continue! We’ll run shuttles from Mill Valley to beautiful natural sites throughout Marin and beyond, just as we’ve done for the past seven years.

  • Spanish Forest School Camp (ages 3-6, Marin): This immersive Spanish experience connects young campers with nature while building language skills.

  • Mandarin Mania Camp (ages 3-8, San Francisco): A Mandarin immersion experience with forest exploration. A shuttle service is available from Marin to San Francisco.

  • Spanish Camp (San Francisco): A lively, engaging Spanish immersion program, also available with a shuttle from Marin.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Your support is crucial as we navigate this transition and continue to provide unique and inspiring programs for our young learners in the community.

Warmly,

The Terra Marin Team

If your child, grandchild, neighbor, or friend is among the thousands of children who have attended our camp or school and been positively impacted by our programs, please consider donating to help us continue our mission.
