Digital Music Composition

For those interested in a current and modern way to make music, this class explores professional software, producing music, loops and music composition.  No prior music experience or equipment needed! 

Rock Band

Play an instrument and want to take it to the next level and play in a band?  Come rock out with us as we explore rock and pop songs, performance techniques and what it really takes to play in a band.  Applicants will be accepted through an audition process. Must have some experience on their instruments and agree to work with a private teacher.

Music Director: Ryan Hickey

Ryan is a highly experienced musician and teacher. Before coming to Terra Marin K-8 as our Music Director, he worked in the industry as a music industry manager and agent. He has over 1,000 live performances and 500+ hours of recording studio time under his belt.

His teaching experience is also extensive - he has been an education program developer and music teacher of children of all ages for over 5 years.  His teaching credentials include teaching students inside music centers and high schools as well as acting as a primary contributor to the development of the school curriculum.  Ryan is also the founder of "All Star Bands", a modern band program at San Francisco's music center. In addition, Ryan Hickey was Director of Productions with Citylights Events, a production company that is pioneering event cinema in China and producing multimedia live shows. Ryan has an extensive collection of works, which include portfolios in music composition, photography, video reels, fine arts, graphic design and voice overs.
